Hello!
I’d like your help finding a name for my new book about reading music. I’ve piloted these materials on my students for years and it’s time to publish! With over 25,000 hours in the teacher chair and thirty-five years on the bandstand I have a good idea of what people do and do not need to know!
The primary purpose of this book is to explain and demonstrate what all the symbols, markings and squiggly lines on music paper mean, and when and why these symbols are used. In addition to graphically explaining the most common points of confusion, there is a complete glossary of commonly used symbols and terms that are rarely found defined anywhere except in “professional level” books. The glossary is listed in words and easy to recognize symbols.
While covering many details, it largely addresses all forms of “pop music” and will most likely be around 130 pages long. (To see what the different forms of written music are click here.)
