My name is Marty Buttwinick… and welcome to my teaching studio!
Besides being a professional musician for 35 years, I have taught over 25,000 hours of one-on-one music lessons and career consultations.
In addition to teaching beginning and intermediate students, some top acts that my professional students have performed or recorded with include Chaka Khan, Isaac Hayes, MC Lyte, Taylor Dane, Nine Inch Nails, Beck, Dixie Chicks, Edgar Winter, Doug E. Fresh and many more.
Having guided more than 800 students through their studies I know what the pitfalls are and know how to avoid them so your route to your musical goals is smooth and fun.

People have different goals, ability levels and backgrounds. There are many pieces to the puzzle and music lessons can be straight ahead or seem to be difficult and complex. My job is to determine what you need to do, plot out a doable program and guide you through it. I already know how all the pieces fit and chances are I can put them all together for you.
In addition to learning songs, styles of music, an instrument, rhythm, ear training, musical fundamentals and all the things you need to play how you want to play; I excel in discovering exactly what YOU need to do to reach your next level, and charting out a smooth path for you to follow.
