In addition to instrumental and general musicianship studies, I have a number of students studying songwriting and general composition. The current styles range from swing to metal to R&B, and I should have more tracks up as the months proceed.

This is cool swing tune written by my bass/guitar student, Elizabeth. (Who is also a violist!) She finished the melody and chords then we put an arrangement to it. For a quick demo, I notated it in my music notation program, “Sibelius,” with the piano playing the melody, along with bass and drum parts. Sibelius generated those sounds, then I added some live guitar and organ tracks in GarageBand. Check it out… Well Done Elizabeth! (And this would probably sound awesome with a trombone playing the melody!)
